The Roman democratic system has influenced a lot the modern democracy in multiple ways. For example, in Rome there was a group of senators who elected the ruler and limit his powers, so he wouldn't become a dictator. Likewise, in Rome, the Eight Judges governed different provinces and supervised the courts, like the Supreme Court, option D, in the United States.
