1. Use the correct order of operations and do the exponents first.
Remember that an exponent of 2 means to multiply the base by itself, not multiply the base by 2.
6^2+ 3^2 = 6 * 6 + 3 * 3 = 36 + 9 = 45
2. 4^3 + 4.5 = 4 * 4 * 4 + 4.5 = 64 + 4.5 = 68.5
